iCount

iCount was the first bot I built for strangers. Everything before it ran in my own servers, for people I knew. This one was public: any server could invite it, connect a channel and start counting. Read the previous number, type it plus one, and if anyone slips the whole channel resets to 1.

That is the entire bot, and that is exactly why it worked. About 75 servers and a couple thousand people counted together to keep their communities alive through the quiet hours. For me it was the first time my code ran somewhere I could not see it. That changes how you write it.
